My friend Eric was recently in need of a personal injury attorney in Los Angeles.  He was playing a gig with his band and the stage collapsed under him.  I guess the place had been warned about their stage not being sturdy enough, and they had not done anything to remedy the situation.  They were in the middle of a set and the stage just could not take the weight of their band anymore.  Eric and all of his keyboards fell to the ground, and Eric ended up breaking his arm.  Since he is a piano player, breaking his arm was a pretty bad thing to have happen to him.  He found a lawyer, and is suing the club owners for the injuries he sustained and for money lost for not being able to perform on their tour.  Luckily it was not a horrible break, and the doctors told him he would be able to get back on the road in a month or so.  They make all of their money from touring, so not being able to do so really hurts them.  Being that they are a smaller band, they are not able to depend on CD sales or merchandise sales.
